It doesn't work like that. When you subscribe to a mailing list, you
have to be able to unsubscribe from the mailing list -- no one can do it
for you.

Where you subscribed is a mechanism for removing yourself.

Every mail item you receive from the mailing list has that information
in both the headers of the messages as well as a trailer at the bottom
every message.

You can click this:
mailto:spamcop-mail-***@news.spamcop.net?subject=unsubscribe

You can go here http://news.spamcop.net/mailman/listinfo/spamcop-mail

and go to the bottom of the page and follow the unsub instructions.

Thank you Mike,

I just received over 50 emails from SpamCop. It absorbed my inbox so
much in fact I could not retrieve my incoming mail. OverMax. Thanks
again, I shall follow your prompts as suggested:)

There's a big advantage in participating or lurking here by using a
newsreader instead of subscribing to the mailing list.

News messages don't fill up your mailbox.

Your mailuser agent Tbird functions as a newsreader as well as a
mailuser agent.

This tutorial describes how to setup newsgroup accounts in Tbird
