Discussion:
Webmail "Report as Spam" - what does it do?

I sometimes check my webmail.spamcop.net account, and recently more and
more spam makes it into it. There is an option "Report as Spam" on top -
what does it do? It seems not to go to the normal spamcop reporting (as
from the Held Email queue when selecting Queue for Reporting).

Nothing about it in Help either.

It is quick reporting -- it parses the spams, reports the injecting IP but
no urls, sends you an email to say that it has done the parse and sent the
reports.

Hi,

Guess what? I didn't know "quick reporting" does not parse the URLs in
the spam.

Wow thanks

The SpamCop Filtered E-mail Accounts / System is hosted on JT's
systems on the other coast (as are these newsgroups) .... JT's
preference is that e-mail account support stuff be handled via
the Forum .. where you will also find a much-expanded and a
more up-to-date FAQ, How To .... things, etc. Please see
http://forum.spamcop.net/forums/ and / or

Why is there no link from the main SC page to this forum? It would be so
much easier to find it if there were a link somewhere.

????? First page after hitting the "Help" link at top-right

Web-based Bulletin Boards

Use the bulletin boards to communicate directly with other SpamCop users.

Index of all forums <--------

But again, the Parsing & Reporting stuff is all run on IronPort
controlled and maintained hardware .... so access to that side
of the house is by IronPort and paid SpanCop staff folks ...
So what's on those pages are up to those folks. I'm doing
what I can for support from JT's systems.
